December Concept - Nellie

I missed the mid-month check-in because I was out of town ... plus I only just began working on this challenge yesterday.  However, Barbara's photo has been thought about a lot since it was first posted and I've known the direction of my interpretation for some time.  Yesterday, the first day of the new year, I pulled the fabrics to build the foundation for the picture that's in my mind's eye.

Now to get on with the adventure of completing it.
