June Photo Challenge-Karen

Happy Memorial Day Everyone!

I didn't think it would hurt any to have our photo reveal one day early since probably some of you have this day off as a holiday.

This photo comes to us courtesy of Karen. I bet there is a story behind it! Please let us know Karen, a little about your photo if you can.

Thanks,
Libby

  2. This was taken on a June morning. It had been one of the coldest springs we have ever had and was looking like Summer would never arrive! On this day the sun came out shining and looking like summer! I think this butterfly was as happy as I was to be out doors soaking up the rays!

  3. Okay, I am trying to identify the type of butterfly. My best guess so far is Diana and here is a link to a picture. http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species?l=1674

    What do you think?

  4. Oh, I have found an even more likely butterfly name for our butterfly--the Red-spotted Purple!

  5. I agree, it's a Red-spotted Purple. Just love that bright iridescent blue on the wings. I need to get this piece done before 15 June... the start of two weeks of vacation/family celebration.
